The Collinstown Fore Drumcree Text Alert Service has been set up and a welcome text message was sent out today. Everyone who signed up to the service should have received this text. If you have signed up to the service, but did not receive the text, please contact Deirdre Daly, Secretary Collinstown Fore Drumcree Community Alert, on email@example.com with your name and mobile number and she will check the list for you.
If you have a Smart Phone we would encourage you to download the Muintir na Tire Cairde App. The download and set up porcess wil only take you a few minutes. Whether you have an Android or iPhone the link you need to download the correct app is here. cairdeapp.ie Alternatively go to Google Play or the Apple iStore and search for Cairde App. If you download the app you will receive the notifications from An Garda Siochana through this app as well as being able to use the other functionality in the app. If you do not have a smart phone, or can not download the app, don’t worry you will receive the notifications via text.
When you have set up the app you should then go to the My Cairde section and add your top 5 cairde – these are the people that you can alert in the case of an emergency. To add your cairde click on the My Cairde section, then on the Add Cairde button (see attached image) – you can then choose people from your contact list or from the map view. You will need to invite someone to be one of your Cairde and they will need to accept. The benefit of setting up your cairde is that if there is an emergency situation you can go to Alerts and click on Emergency – an alert will be sent to your selected Cairde and then you will be given the option to call the Gardaí if you need to.
We would encourage everyone to always contact the Gardaí if they see suspicious or criminal behaviour, it is only by reporting the issue that the alerts can be sent back to the community if appropriate and necessary. Castlepollard Garda Station number is 044 9661112 – perhaps save this number to your phone if you have not already done so.
Should you have any queries in relation to the Text Alert Service please contact Deirdre on firstname.lastname@example.org
