Festival ‘19

Will open at the 10.00am Mass and 11.30am Mass on Sunday 22 September. The Parish Party takes place on Sunday 29 September, the Parish Draw will take place at the end of the Parish Party. 

Collinstown+ Fore Parish Festival ‘19

Preparations are at the final stages for the Parish Festival ’19 which begins on Sunday 22 September and continues each day concluding with a parish party on Sunday 29 September.

This is the third year of the Festival organised by the parish with the hope that everyone will find something of interest at it– guest speakers, renewal of marriage vows, 5km run), Healing, blessing of pets and animals, Enrolment Mass for young people preparing to receive the sacraments next year and Mass to remember loved ones who have died. There is refreshments after each of the sessions and a chance to chat.

Guest speakers include Mr Simon Marriott (Youth For Christ, Mullingar), Declan Hurley (Adm of Navan Parish, Vicar General of the Diocese and former curate in Mullingar), The Rev Alastair Graham (All Saints Mullingar) and a Representative from Cana.

On Saturday 28 September at 10.30am there will be a short outdoor prayer service at St Feichin’s church for the Blessing of Animals.

The 5 Km run/ walk begins at 12 noon with registration open at 10.30am. So far over 80 people have registered online. Refreshments will be served at the finish line with cash prizes and a free shuttle bus to return people back to Fore. The race will be chip timed by Pop Up Races.

The 10 day Festival will conclude on Sunday 30 September with Mass at 11.30am in St Mary’s church followed by a light lunch for everyone. There will also be live music, face painting and different activities for young people including bouncing castles and cage soccer. The day will conclude with the Parish Draw for € 10,000.

Everyone is welcome to some or all of the Festival ’19 and you do not have to be from the parish to attend.

Fr Patrick hopes that the Festival will highlight the importance of being joyful in living out our Christian faith with one another and that there is a place and welcome for everyone in our faith community. 

5km run/walk

The Parish 5km run/walk will take place on Saturday 28 September at 12 noon from St Feichin’s church to St Mary’s church. It is the 3rd year running this event.  There will be a free shuttle bus from the finish line after the refreshments. Free running top for everyone who enters online. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

The Holy Family

We will ask the blessing and help of the Jesus Mary and Joseph. The prayer to them will be recited each day of the Festival and people will have the opportunity to write their own personal prayers and intentions to them. 

Guest Speakers

This year speakers on the various evenings include Fr Declan Hurley, Rev Alastair Graham, A couple representing Cana, Mr Simon Marriott. 

Blessing of Animals – Saturday 28 at 10.30am St Feichin’s

One of the evening sessions will be focused on the blessing of pets and animals as we give thanks to God for the beauty and wonder of creation. 

Catering meeting

A short meeting will take place in the Parish Pastoral Centre on Monday 9 September at 7.30pm in the Parish Pastoral Centre to plan for the catering and hospitality at the festival and at the Parish party. It is to organise to making of tea and tidy up after, it will not require making cakes etc 

Parish Party

The annual parish Party takes place on Sunday 29 September at 11.30am. Lunch will be provided for everyone after Mass. We are inviting each family to bring a desert and drop it into the parish centre before Mass (something that can easily be divided and shared).
