• Lough Lene Gaels Hurling was started in 1969 through the amalgamation of other clubs in the area. It is one of the leading GAA clubs in the county and it provides opportunities for young people to play a sport that has been followed and loved by generations. The club has huge success over the years, winning many county championships at all age levels including Senior Hurling. The local National schools in Collinstown and Fore turns out young hurlers and Camogie players every year and the constantly go on represent the club and the local community in County competitions, with some players going to represent the county on the national stage. The Club is run by volunteers and many are needed to run the club, maintain the grounds, train the young people and generally bring up standards in the club. The club now has a good walking track around the pitches which any member can use. Anybody can get involved and the best way is to call over, have a look at the facilities, see what is going on there and become a member of the Club.
