Collinstown.ie Celebrates One Year Online

On March 17th collinstown.ie will celebrate it's 1st birthday.  We launched the site last year ahead of the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Castlepollard.  Collinstown Action Group would like to thank everyone who contributes to the site with notes and updates on their various clubs and groups.  The aim of the website is to have one place where people can go online to get the updates and information that they need for what is going on in and around the village.  The site also aims to simplify the communication process for groups and provide a space where trusted information can live.  Once the note is created on the website it can then very easily be shared on social media and through WhatsApp

.

The Stats

The website is being well used with a clear spike in use or when new interesting posts go live.  The link to these posts tends to be shared on Facebook and in WhatsApp creating spikes in traffic.

The beauty of putting the information on the website is that you write it once in a place that does not limit you to a small space and you can include all the important information along with photos.  This information can then be shared around to whoever needs to see it.  Furthermore, this information will always be there - so if someone searches online for this information weeks or months after it is written it is still there and available, this is very handy for events or meetings that take place monthly.

How to get involved

We would like to invite all groups in the village to get involved and use the facilities on the website.  Are your events listed on the calendar?  Are you including notes, photos and updates on the site?  If you would like to find out more information about how to put your news on the website please contact Mary Duffy collinstownactiongroup@gmail.com or 086 0867132.
