Turning on the Christmas lights

Collinstown locals braved the wintry elements in the village on Sunday December 8th @ 6pm to turn on the Christmas lights and welcome Santa's arrival.

The lights were turned on by Fr Donnelly and some of the players from the All Ireland winning camogie team.

Shortly after, fire engine sirens could be heard which signalled the imminent arrival of Santa, to the delight of many children who were eager to meet him and tell him their wishes. Santa gave each child a small gift before heading off to continue his hard work before his very busy Christmas eve.

A lovely evening had by all beside the fire in the Lough Lene Inn.

Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year 2020 to all.
