Village Clean Up Sat 22nd Feb

Thank you to the volunteers who came out to the first clean up of the year today.  We were lucky the weather stayed dry for a few hours.  The team of seven adults and a great group of young volunteers weeded out the flower beds in the centre of the village and picked litter on all the approach roads to the village.  We checked in on some of the new orchards and tied up some trees, tidied up the herb pot at the school gate and stopped to admire the snowdrops and crocus that we planted back in October under the trees outside the school.

Thank you to our volunteers Gráinne Flannery, Hans Widmann, Martin Griffith, Damian and Mary Duffy who came out with their kids and to Joe Potter and Anne Marie Nash.

Thank you to Martin Griffith who sorted out the recycling bins last weekend.  This area, unfortunately, attracts a lot of dumping.  Bags left beside recycling bins are litter.  Please take special care when recycling your glass as broken glass is very difficult to clean up and can be very dangerous.

We will be back out again in a few weeks and would be delighted to have a few more people come and join us.  Keep and eye on the website and our Facebook page for updates.

Our AGM and the launch of our Village Tidy Towns Plan for the next five years takes place next Thursday 5th March at 8pm in Collinstown Hall - please come and join us to hear about the plan.
