Club Strokeplay

We recently held our Club Strokeplay and had a great turnout of 29 players.

In the Senior section Gary Middleton successfully defended his "John Browne Cup" title, beating runner up Stephen Ruane by 3 shots. Dessie Baker took third place with the best nett prize.‍

In the Intermediate section Robert Masterson beat runner up, and defending champion, Aaron Kennedy by 1 shot in a reversal of last year’s result to take the "King of Castles" cup sponsored by former member Liam Hetherton. Ray Fay won the third place prize with the best nett score.‎

In the Junior section Willie Ayres successfully defended his junior title by beating Paddy Browne also by just the 1 shot to lift The Doynes Bar Cup. New member Michael Devaney took the 3rd place best nett prize.

And finally, in the Ladies section Liz Quinn had 9 shots to spare on runner up Anne Kelly to lift the trophy she kindly sponsored herself some years back.

Well done to Competition Secretary Ray Fay who did a great job running the competition on the day and to Whelehans Pharmacy who sponsored prizes. (No picture of Liz)
