Get Out Your Walking Boots

Great news today. Our new footpath from the village to the Park is being completed this week. The lights were erected last week and the path is being finished with tarmac in the coming days. You will now be able to walk from the village to the park, do a few laps of our almost completed walking track around our two pitches, walk back to the village and Hey Presto! you could have done a 5K.  It will also provide a safe journey to the Park for our schoolchildren and hurling and camogie families.

This is one of the projects into which we invested the money made from the Night At The Oskars last year. For an investment of €12,000, which was supplemented by contributions from Collinstown Action Group, Collinstown Tidy Towns, Collinstown Pitch and Putt Club and  LLG Camogie Club, we enabled Westmeath County Council get a further €80,000 from the government through the Commnity Involvement Scheme to do the project. We are very proud of that and we thank Westmeath Co Co and everybody involved.

We hope you enjoy this lasting addition to the village.

Lough Lene Gaels Social Membership, which allows people to use the walking track, costs only €20.
