Thank you to the Volunteers looking after our village

There is great work being done in Collinstown.  Well done to all involved.  The Tidy Towns volunteers are meeting at 10am every Saturday morning to do some work around the village.  Over the past few weeks great work has been done in Clandreen on the Mullingar Road, along the footpaths on the Mullingar Road and on the flower beds in the centre of the village.

The bees and butterflies will be delighted with the recent grass cutting plan in front of the school, there are great wildflowers growing in the long grass patch. It is also great to see some buildings in and around the village getting a refresh - most notably the new paintwork on the Lough Lene Inn.  Well done, it looks great.

We planted orchards earlier in the year and are delighted to see some of the fruit trees producing fruit already.  We are working on getting signs ready for each of the orchards and will get them in place when we can. The Action Group along with the Mens Shed and Tidy Towns worked on this project - it was great to get it done before the Covid lockdown and everyone will be able to enjoy the fruits of the labor in the coming weeks when the fruit is ready to harvest.

Unfortunately, on occasion, there is a litter problem particularly around the playground and some of the seating in the village.  Hopefully the people responsible for this will stop and instead dispose of their litter correctly.

You can help

The Tidy Towns group are always looking for help with flower beds, sweeping, general tidying and various projects around the village.  If you would like to volunteer, or are a member of a club or group that would like to get involved in a clean up, please come along on a Saturday morning at 10am.  All help would be greatly appreciated.
