Tidy Towns tribute to Marian Potter

Today, Collinstown Tidy Towns unveiled a beautiful bench in memory of our friend and long serving, hard working volunteer Marian Potter.  Joe Potter and his family, together with Fr. Patrick, friends of the family and Tidy Towns volunteers from around the village came together to remember Marian who passed away in April 2019.  A beautiful new bench that has been installed in her honour.

A huge thank you to Johnny Keating who did a brilliant job restoring the bench, which was destined for landfill.  The bench is placed beside where Marian used to park her car, when going to the village to look after the flower beds that she lovingly tended to year in year out.  Fr. Patrick blessed the bench and the ongoing work of the Tidy Towns group.  Joe and the Potter family are very pleased with the wonderful tribute to Marian and hope that she, and her memory, has inspired other people to follow in her footsteps and get involved in looking after their village.
